Robert Hutchinson Named Private Sector Co-Chairman

Bob Hutchinson, president of Glen Ellyn Bank & Trust, a Wintrust community bank, has been named Private Sector Co-Chair of Choose DuPage, joining DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin as the Public Sector Co-Chair. Hutchinson moves into this new role after serving on the board of directors for Choose DuPage for the last three years. In his role at the bank, Hutchinson focuses on getting to know business owners and offering financial solutions that will meet their business needs. These skills, along with his community banking background, are key in helping Choose DuPage further collaborate with the private sector and municipalities to enhance the economic development of DuPage County. “DuPage County has tremendous assets to support businesses,” says Hutchinson. “Our number one mission is for our people to realize the infrastructure and resources that are needed to be successful in Illinois are right here in DuPage County.” “We are thrilled to have Bob take this leadership role for Choose DuPage,” says Greg Bedalov, president and CEO of Choose DuPage. “He is respected in the business community and has the vision and forethought to grow DuPage County’s business community.” A lifelong DuPage County resident, Hutchinson has worked in the banking industry for 28 years and started his career with Gary Wheaton Bank, ultimately serving as president of Gary Wheaton Bank in Downers Grove. Later he worked in the community bank group with successor organizations First Chicago, NBD, Bank One and Chase. Currently he is a trustee and former chairman of The Conservation Foundation and also serves on the board of the DuPage Homeownership Center. Hutchinson earned a B.S. degree in economics from Illinois State University and an MBA from Illinois Benedictine University.
