Transportation in DuPage County is unparalleled. One of the world’s busiest airports, O’Hare International, is located in the County’s northeast corner. DuPage Airport, a general aviation facility in western DuPage, completed a significant expansion in 1988.
DuPage County is served by two major airports – O’Hare International for international and domestic travel and Midway for domestic travel. One of the world’s busiest airports, O’Hare, is located in the County’s northeast corner. O’Hare has over 30 passenger airlines and over a dozen cargo carriers, handling over one million tons of air cargo a year. Additionally, O’Hare is consistently ranked in the top 10 in North America and the top 25 in the world in terms of annual cargo volume.
The DuPage Airport in West Chicago is a full service private and commercial transportation facility used by a number of the private companies for executive aircraft, as well as for other commercial and freight aircraft. It is strategically located within 35 minutes of all the major suburban business districts.

DuPage County, as part of the Chicago metropolitan area with the largest railroad hub in the nation, has excellent rail connections to every part of the United States. Freight service within the County is provided by the Union Pacific, Elgin Joliet and Eastern, Illinois Central, Milwaukee West, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

Pace
Pace, the suburban bus division of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), serves tens of thousands of daily riders with fixed bus routes, ADA Paratransit Service, Dial-a-Ride and Call-n-Ride programs, and with carpools and vanpools through the Pace RideShare Program. Service is available in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties. Pace is the 7th largest bus service in North America.
Metra
The 495-mile Metra rail system serves 23 stations in DuPage County. On Metra you can reach Chicago’s beautiful lakefront, museums, zoos, sporting events, shops and restaurants, concerts, special events, schools and colleges as well as quaint, historic suburbs and small towns.
