Hub Group, Duchossois Building in Oak Brook

In Spring 2014, officials from Duchossois Real Estate LLC, announced the acquisition of four buildings in Oak Brook with the hopes of turning them into corporate office space. This comes on the heels of Hub Group’s announcement at the end of 2013 to move their headquarters into a new 130,000 square foot office building at York Road and 22nd Street in Oak Brook with a five-year lease.

Hub Group represents the first new office building to go up in Oak Brook in well over a decade. Duchossois’ two transactions include three buildings on Windsor Road, along with the former Follett building on Swift Road. The spokeswoman of Duchossois, Emily Davis, said, “The search was purposely made in the western suburbs to demonstrate the Duchossois family commitment to the area and to be near the Chamberlain Group.” Chamberlain Group, a garage door opener company, is one of Duchossois’ investments. Hub Group chose Oak Brook because of easy access to restaurants, shopping and other amenities. The new space is developed to better reflect Hub Group’s company culture. The design involves the signature shipping containers used to create casual lounges areas within the open office encouraging higher levels of interaction and collaboration among employees. These and other projects in Oak Brook and DuPage County represent a market trend to provide office spaces for shifting workforce demographics. Oak Brook also has several other projects coming to fruition in the near future that echo these trends. In DuPage County, we will continue to see more development and re-development as tenants recommit to the E-W corridor and use new workplace strategies to recruit top talent.
